CPCS Students Spend a Day of Discovery at the 2010 Science Fair and Science & Technology Night |

CPCS students enjoyed a full day of science activities at this year’s Science Fair and Science and Technology night on January 14th. After weeks of preparation, students in grades three through five spent the day presenting their science projects to their younger schoolmates, teachers and visiting parents
Faculty judges observed all science fair projects and selected first, second and third place winners from each grade who were presented with medals for their science projects at an evening awards ceremony.
A highlight of this year’s Science and Technology night was the number of interactive stations which taught over 150 visitors about the phases of the moon, circuits and robotics, voice-over technology, and lava lamps.
Fourth grader Nicolai Celestain whose project about an underwater volcano and density won him a first prize medal commented, “I learned that cold water is denser than hot water, so in a glass of cold water, hot water will rise. I think it’s important to have the science fair because it shows how much we know, how much we've learned, and it’s fun. Science is fun!”
